TRILUMINOS technology
The Z1 has a 5” Full HD 1920 x 1080 (441PPI) touchscreen display that has the latest Sony BRAVIA technology built into it for super crisp and rich on screen images.TRILUMINOS technology uses a wider palette or colours to give a more realistic and natural image on screen, whilst the X-Reality for Mobile analyses images to optimise colours, sharpness and contrast.
Fully waterproof
Sony have improved on the water and dust resistant qualiotoes of the original Xperia Z. With an IP55/58 rating, the Z1 can sit in water up to 1.5 metres deep for 30 minutes and still operate normally during and after its removal. This is a perfect feature if you live in wetter climates or operate your phone regularly near water.Unlike the Xperia Z, the Z1 has no cover on the headphone jack; this has been completely waterproofed; so you need not worry if the jack gets wet.
Intelligent design
Even when it comes to charging there is no need to open the cover over the microUSB port, because there are magnetic pins on the side of the device for docking into a desktop cradle (sold separately).Sony have continued the premium look on the Z1 with tempered glass on both the front and the back of the Z1 and the OmniBalance design that is consistent across the Sony smartphone range. The Z1 it looks clean and stylish from all angles.
