So as the number of devices increasing day by day so as the robberies are also rising with same ratio. So it is important to keep in mind that what you can do if you Android smartphone has been stolen or you can’t remember where you left it. So Google has provided us the solutions for Android devices as tool called the Android Device Manager, which is an online tool enables Android Device owner to track and lock their misplaced phones and tablets easily. Also Android Device Manager lets users to wipe all of their personal data from phone, forcing phone to reset to its original settings, that’s really an awesome feature added to it.


Here are Some Steps to follow to Lock,Track and Wipe Data From Your Android Devices


  1. Go to Google Setting Application of your Phone or Tablet.

  2. Click the Android Device Manager at the bottom.

  3. Click the “Remotely locate this device” if it is not clicked.

  4. Check the box to “Allow remote lock and factory reset” and you have to grant permission when screen pop up asking for permission.

  5. Sign in to your Google account online.

  6. Go to Android Device Manager.

  7. Now on your device and go into Settings of your phone/tablet, then click security, then phone administration and make sure you have checked “Android Device Manager”.

  8. Now at Online Android Device Manager page, select the device you want to sync from the list of devices associated with in your Google Account.

  9. So After Selecting your device, you may see a map locating the location of your device, Also you can see the option to “ring”, “lock” and “erase” device.

  10. You can lock your devices using Device Manager, you simple have to give old password and set a new password for your device.

  11. If you want to erase or wipe data from your phone, select erase option and a warning window pops up. Agree with the terms and your phone will power off and erase all the data you have stored on it. So try to use this option only if your tablet or smartphone has been lost or stolen, then it is pretty good feature to use.
