As people appreciated Google, they provided the Tool called “Android Device Manager”. Android Device Manager is definitely a perfect invention as it lets you lock, trace and wipe your data from your device if you have lost your phone or tablet. But with the recent updates to Google Play Services by Google has a sneaky and potentially dangerous change to Device Administrator, that it disables Android Device Manager as a Device Administrator, which means you can’t access the remote services to lock, tract and wipe data features. so you can’t do anything if your phone or tablet get stolen.
As the Android Device Manager received positive response form the users from all around the world as it provides remote services like Lock, Tract and Wipe Data from Phone even if you don’t have it. But sudden twist in the logic of Google seems that they have decided to provided this services no more to most of the users. So they think users wouldn’t mind having that function turned off without their knowledge.
If ADM is not accessing all of your apps then go into your settings and then apps. Scroll down to Google Play Services and check your update number. If you have one of the affected updates then you will need to go back to settings and into the security to find your list of Device Administrators. You may see that Android Device Manager is no more enabled. Which mean if your phone get stolen you can’t do anything about it.
But still the good news is that not everyone gonna affected, even if they one of the GPS updates. But keep in mind Android Device Manager is really a pretty good tool for all of your android powered smartphones and tablets. So please make sure you are protected and everyone you know is using Android Device Manager as security should know about this problem.
Google says! Android Device Manager may be no more for your device
