The Battery life is actually affected by a software process within Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) that gives apps access to the Nexus 5’s camera. Whenever user will open app like Snapchat or Skype on the Nexus 4 a process then opens to allow access to the Android device’s camera.

“We believe we have fixes for the current high CPU reports on the Nexus 5 due to mm-qcamera-daemon and they will be included in the next maintenance update” a Google project Manager wrote this.

The project member went on to explain that bugs in the “mm-qcamera-daemon” process may have increased in frequency on the Nexus 5 due to a recent update to the Skype Android app and suggested users uninstall it in the meantime. So Since the process is heavily customized for every Android smartphone, the company said that “affected users of other devices should contact their manufacturers directly”.

Google Working on Nexus 5 and said that it can’t provide a timeline or deadline that when the update would be released only “due to all the testing we need to do for this and for other fixes”. But right now a quick reboot of the Nexus 5 will fix the problem temporarily.

So a kind of Good news for the users of Nexus 5 and with devices having Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) that battery life will be recovered but the proper battery life will be improved with the next update release so be patient.

Many users also complaining that Google nexus 7 touch screen not working, Google wallet not working on nexus 4, So hope Google will go through them as well as Google working on Nexus 5.
