Review Sony Xperia E Dual C1605

Sony Xperia E Dual C1605 is made out of mostly plastic, it probably wont be the best design you’ve seen on a smartphone, but for an affordable phone, it looks decent enough. The back is slightly curved inwards which helps you to keep a hold on the phone, with the textured surface allowing for a better grip.Measuring 113.5 x 61.8 x 11 mm and weighing 115.7 grams, it’s comfortable enough to use one handed.

Taking up much of the space at the front is the 3.5 inch 320 x 480 pixels resolution screen, which has a very low 165 ppi pixel density. As such, details are rough and text can look a bit jagged. It’s a pretty low quality screen, with mediocre color depth and very limited viewing angles. Outdoor visibility isnt too great either, and there’s an awful lot of reflection. Since there’s no proximity sensor, the display doesnt automatically adjust brightness either.

As such, Android ICS isn’t a very lag-free experience and you will notice the occasional slowdowns. Android Jelly Bean is supposed to be released for the Xperia E, so hopefully it’ll bring some improvements with project butter. Overall, it’s responsive enough and definitely usable, though you cant play huge 3D games. Popular games like Angry Birds, Temple Run 2, etc work just fine though.Using bench marking tools really isn’t fair to a phone with budget hardware, but incase you’re inquisitive, the Xperia E scored 2420 on Quadrant, and 5540 on AnTuTu. Apart from that, the Xperia E only has 4GB of on board memory, and while there’s a microSD card slot, none is provided in-box. Out of that, you only get 780MB available for applications and 2.2GB for media.
